About The House

The Beech Tree is a inviting and friendly house perfect for large groups of nature lovers. Most of the house was built in the late 18 century from its own oak trees and local stone . The early craftmanshship can still be seen coupled with modern comforts.  It is set in its own grounds with extensive parking facilities, large gardens and sitting areas. It  is located in the the village with direct access to village ammenities as well as to the lush green coutryside. The Lakes offers glorious mountain scenery with rushing streams and placid lakes and  provides the ideal base for walking, climbing, jogging, fell running, rowing, sailing, cycling, mountain biking and fishing etc, etc..

The main house has 8 bedrooms all located on the second floor. Four of these are ensuite and another two have their own shower. Opposite the four rooms with  showers or without ensuite facilities are three separate toilets, a shower room and a room with a bath.
There are a further two large bedrooms in the annex , in the right hand corner of the house. One of these bedrooms is a twin on the ground floor- There is a toilet, also on the ground floor, not far from the room.
The second room, up a fairly tight spiral staircase is a large double room with bathroom and shower. This bathroom and shower , just outside the double room, can be made private to the room or shared with the twin room below.
On the bottom floor - to the right and left of the hall are two lounges. these are big enough to take around 8 people each. The dining room is large enough to take up to eighteen people.
The kitchen is well equipped and medium sized. At the back of this there is a utilities room with further washing facilities, fridges, washing machines and dryer. Not far from the utilities room there is a games room.


The kitchen offers a cooker, 2 ovens, a dishwashers and a microwave. A washing machine, a tumble drier are in a utility room.
The dining room sits up to 18 people.
2 sitting rooms each comfortably sitting around 8 people.
TV and radio are available.
WiFi provided.

Entrance Hall

You enter the the Beech Tree through a large bright entrance hall with attractively tiled floors. In front of you is the  main staircase lit up by  a long 2 metre high window overlooking a very special, totally natural rock garden. To the right of the hall is the smaller of two dinning area and to the left the first of two lounges.


The first of two lounges offers a comfortable setting to read, watch TV or to play games. Many popular games are on offer. Of course there is also a games and  room .
